Covid-19 Pandemic of 2020 has given us a pause in the World. Families are confined in close quarters and confronting the values that make family values. The media News world shows a picture of medicine and doctors and psychologists and happy families pursuing  the Information Age ideal of culture neutral, ideological, and theological absent blonde/age 20-30something with non-handicapped natural born children.

Not the real world, nor I hope, any world, though I know many of the millennial generation are  pursuing this fantasy.

It is a time now, just as the time was for Jesus, ripe for harvest. The evangelist message of Jesus is more true today, and the witness of Jesus more profound. Jesus is the healer and the friend of the poor, the meek, those over-looked or pushed aside by the makers of the world of Mammon, the world of money.

Jesus healed the leaper, gave sight to the blind, caused the lame to walk, returned the peaceful mind to the tormented, restored the withered hand to the crippled and fed the hungry . Jesus bestowed Forgiveness on the prostitute, the tax collector, the soldier, the military officer, even those who denied him or doubted him.

And all he asked in return is that we believe in him when he says, "The kingdom of heaven is at hand, forgive your enemy, and love him like you love your neighbor, and love you neighbor as you love yourself. So that your father in heaven may forgive and love you as he loves the son."

It begs the question, "what is the kingdom of heaven?" We know what it is not. Jesus said,"my kingdom is not of this world." And he said,"Believe in me. I am the way, the truth, and the light."

So if all that is required is to accept and obey the law: Love your enemies as your neighbor and your neighbor as yourself, are we so united with the beast with-in us that we can not break the bond of kill or be killed and live in the light of love and make love?
