    For my teacher Scott Devine who mentioned watching Netflix Cobra Kai. So I tuned in, and watched the entire series. I feel as a Judo student and brother of a Karate 3rd degree black belt I can share my interpretation of how Miyagi-do methods apply to bass teaching.  As  Miyagi-do uses wax-on, wax-off, sand-the-floor, and paint-on paint-off, I think similar physical exercises can help the bass player The First is "Swim the Pool."  Ask the student to find their best way from end to end of the pool via either Backstroke, Breast-stroke, Australian Crawl, or Sidestroke.  The item to notice is finger control. Do the fingers stay together, in a unit pulling water? Or do they spread, passing thru water with no pull? This exercise develops finger strength and focus on finger positioning.  I spoke with bassist Eric "Pik Funk" Smith last nite viz Zoom Conference bass hang. His performance  with Justin Timberlake led me to JT's music. The Woods concept of JT is one that dates back to Woodstock era, see Walden Pond, as I well remember. Off The Map, or Grid, is a passion many still pursue. I am beginning a new artistic project that will combine lyric, prose, paint, music, and performance, it will be call The Woods Back.  Sweet and Sour Chicken from China Wok restaurant sparks me to note the following:  If it is the case that Andromeda and the Milky Way are on a collision course as astronomers say, and if there are Black Holes at the center of each, and that after a billion year dance they will collide and join into a larger and more dynamic entity. And if Gravity Waves are the results of such collisions, and Gravity Waves move through the physical universe in such a way so as to physically expand and contract mater.  I woke up this morning after a revealing dream and read this in a book from my table. "As the prime generator of form 'the point' indicates a position in space.
