Sometimes, make that Often...I take friendship for granted. It is a bad habit. Friends are what holds my life together. With out my best friend, Christine, my wife and partner in life, I would literally be adrift in the world.
My friends have defined my life. My achievements, my heartbreaks, my ecstasies, my philosophies, my present actions in this upside down world. I applaud this French woman's' proposition that legal rights only married people with "the piece of paper" now enjoy from the government be extended to We the People who in our pursuit of Happiness tie ourselves to Friends....to whom we may wish to leave our Wealth, share our home, take employment time-off with pay for the same reasons as married couples do, And be fully accepted as the now "privileged married state is accepted. Which is so...IMHO because "The State", "The Government" 'Gives Standing" to marriage over not-married; solely for the Gain of The Government in acquiring new assets for it's perpetuity. I do not apologize, I am NOT living to fill the needs of America of it's Government. I will stand and help it as long as it recognizes that it's obligation is to me. The citizen who makes this engine go. It is not my "Standing" in 'the court' of Government to be manipulated to support the perpetuity of any Government.
